LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida sheriff’s deputies pulled a naked man from the jaws of a nearly four-metre-long alligator that almost completely severed the man’s arm, the sheriff’s office said.

Four deputies waded through thick mud about six metres into Lake Parker to find Adrian Apgar, 45, around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said. They were responding to multiple reports about a man screaming for help.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – A father embroiled in a custody dispute posted a phony ad on the Internet offering to give away his 5-year-old boy to make his wife look bad, investigators said Wednesday.

The ad, written as if it were placed by the mother, listed the boy as “free to a good home” on the popular Craigslist Web site.

APPLETON, Wis. – An argument between a man and his girlfriend’s father turned violent, leaving the father bloody and the man facing battery charges.

Conor S. Hammes, 26, of Racine was charged with one felony count of substantial battery, two misdemeanor counts of battery and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
