Report finds St. Louis most dangerous U.S. city

ST. LOUIS – Just days after the St. Louis Cardinals won the top honor in Major League Baseball, their hometown jumped to first place on a list no one wants to lead: the most dangerous cities in the United States.

This Midwestern city has long been in the upper tiers of the annual ranking of the nation’s safest and most dangerous cities, compiled by Morgan Quitno Press. Violent crime surged nearly 20 percent there this year, when the rate of such crimes rose much faster in the Midwest than in the rest of nation, according to FBI figures released in June.

Fridge Falls On Woman, Traps Her For 4 Days

A Roseville woman was pinned down to the ground for four days after her refrigerator fell on top of her in her kitchen, as she fought to stay alive.

69-year-old Inga Walen’s refrigerator was top heavy and as she leaned in to open the fridge door, it fell forward, toppling her.

Pole Dancing for Kids

A “sexy” pole-dancing kit has been pulled from the toys and games section of a website run by Britain’s biggest retailer after protests from outraged parents.
The Peekaboo pole-dancing kit, which has a “sexy garter” to help “unleash the sex kitten inside” was sold in Tesco Direct’s toys and games section, The Daily Mail reported.

“Soon you’ll be flaunting it to the world and earning a fortune in Peekaboo Dance Dollars,” its blurb reads.

Ford Worker Loses Job, Wins Lottery

Retirement day will be an especially memorable one for Ford assembly plant worker Jerome McInnis. McInnis played the new Georgia Lottery instant game Bah Humbucks and became the first to win one of the game’s $225,000 top prizes.

Jerome is a 13-year employee of the Ford assembly plant in Hapeville that closed today.
